Walking the back streets in urban Hong Kong, I found this picturesque wall crowded with post or mailboxes. Each little box has a whole life or maybe several behind it. All the boxes were individually painted and decorated in vibrant colours. It seemed to me that the characters behind each box had come to life, and it brought to my imagination a whole world of hidden faces. The Chinese calligraphic graffiti I have changed into l;oosely portrayed symbols from the zodiac, Aquarius and Gemini and a simple wooden stool.
